Ian Parmenter

Producer/Presenter of Consuming Passions Pty Ltd and Festival Director/Board of Management of Tasting Australia. Very well respected by the Australian Food and Wine industry with extremely good contacts throughout the world. Prior to Consuming Passions and Tasting Australia, Ian was a senior television producer/director with ABC television specialising in coverage of major events: World Swimming Championships, America’s Cup, arts festivals, Australian Film Institute Awards, and concerts, most notably featuring Ray Charles, Dionne Warwick, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa and James Galway. Ian is in demand throughout Australia as a speaker/presenter and has much experience at MC’ing major events.

Executive Producer of Consuming Passions Pty Ltd and Board of Management of Tasting Australia. 30 years experience in international sports, event and television marketing in UK (Festival of Thailand, Mary Rose Trust, Les Miserables and Americas Cup) and Australia ( Australia Weeks in USA 2004,5,6 and 2007, World Swimming Championships, Rally Australia, Hopman Cup, Tasting Australia 1997 – ongoing). Has held senior executive positions in London, Barcelona and New York.

    Rapid Roast Pork

    Roasting, it’s one of the oldest methods of cooking meat and was done on open fires long before ovens were invented. One of the challenges today is to roast the meat cuts which are now leaner than they used to be. We don’t want the meat to dry out. One of the quickest and easiest roast meat dishes is fillet of pork, which cooks in about 20 minutes, and which I accompany with an apple chutney-style sauce, which cooks in about the same time.
